Where to go for beach holidays in Cambodia
February 21, 2017
From November to March is the most perfect time to travel to Cambodia. If you are in nearby countries and looking for a great affordable vacation you shouldn’t count this beautiful Indochina country out of the list. And if you are craving walking along beautiful tropical endless coastline or watching a fanciful sunset evening from the beach, this country surely won’t let you down.
Here below are some beaches which stand out among beach holidays in Cambodia.
There is no argument that Sihanoukville has become King of Cambodian Beach resorts, thanks to its headland ringed by the squeaky white-sand, azure water and the flock of tourists every year.
Serendipity beach is definitely a place for the youngsters’ night-time bar-hopping, especially when you travel with a large group of friends and likely drink HOLIDAY nights away. Crowded air, loud noise, and party area, everything youngsters may need for their gap years.
Meanwhile, far to the south of the peninsula rests the relaxed and quieter Otres Beach where is the home of a bunch of cheap bungalows and bohemian-flavored guesthouses. Swish boutique hotels are also just few steps away in the neighborhood. Therefore you can either choose your cheap holidays or luxury holidays in Cambodia. The ambience in Otres is always great to get any bit of the lazy vacations started by either sunbathing or having comfy fabulous dinners by the beach on cozy chairs.
Koh Rong is the second largest island of Kingdom of Cambodia and about 25 kilometers away from Sihanoukville. The island has attractive 43km sandy beaches on its Western and Eastern shores, which is its main attraction. Coming from Sihanoukville, visitors can either pick a slow boat (two hours and ½, $5-$10 round trip) or fast boat (45 minutes, $20 round trip). Upon arriving, you can stay in Koh Touch village, where most of the activities on the island happen at the beach restaurants and sunset parties. Meanwhile, the rest of the island still remains almost untouched with itsy-bitsy fishing villages.
In the daytime you can do snorkeling, scuba diving, trekking to Long Beach, check out the fun bars along the shores. At night, you can sleep at stunning earthy Tree House Bungalows.
Koh Ta Kiev
Although it seems there has been a touch of development in Koh Ta Kiev, this place still keeps its wildlife natural beauty with a vast amount of thick jungles. A few big roads are recently built to cut through the forest to facilitate the tourism’s needs. There are quite a lot of choices of budget accommodation at Crusoe Island, Koh Ta Kiev Bungalows, Kactus… which means you can totally design your own cheap holidays in Cambodia. Camping in the jungle of the island can be a good choice for adventurous ones while the coral reefs are quite stunning to snorkel around. And at night, again, you can never get enough of sleep in the earthy guesthouses made from wood with a vintage sense. So why don’t you visit this island before it becomes over-crowded tourist place?
